I am originally from Michigan. I joined the army in 1975 and ended up in Germany for three years. Then I reenlisted to go to Fort Campbell KY. I got out of the Army in 1981 and moved to Madison TN and then I joined the National Guard for the next fourteen years. I now work at a factory that produces health and beauty aids for all stores. I am a production mechanic at the factory and I have been there for the past twenty-eight years. But, that’s enough about me. The woman behind the man is named Janice McGlothlin and she is originally from Franklin, KY. Before we met, she worked in Franklin at a factory that produced air fresheners and other things. On a Sunday night, I went out to a nightclub to go dancing and that is when I met Janice. We dated for about a year. I decided to ask her to marry me and she said yes. So, we got married and she moved to Madison TN with me. Soon, the plant in Franklin closed up and she got a job were I worked. We worked on the same shift and even on the same production line. We work for “Vi-Jon” of TN. Janice is going on fifteen years there. We have two children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and we just found out that we have another great grandchild coming soon. When we got married, I rode a 750 Honda for few years. Then we bought a 1500 Gold Wing from a Honda shop in Madison. We rode with people from work until they quit riding, for different reasons. We all know that it is not fun to ride alone all the time so, I told Janice that I was going to find some one to ride with. I picked up the newspaper, started reading through it and found an ad that said “if you want to ride, come meet with us at our meeting place.” I went with a friend of mine. I liked what I saw; a place to eat and then ride. That is where I met a person named Buck Owen (no, not the singer.) He told me about The “GOLDWING ROAD RIDERS ASSOCIATION.” Janice and I decided joined as members in 1999. After joining, we became the Assistant Chapter Directors in September 1999 through 2000. Then we became the Chapter Directors from 2001 through 2004. We were appointed Senior Chapter Directors in January 2004. In January 2005, we became Chapter Educators and were appointed Senior Chapter Educators in 2006. We were also awarded the “Tennessee Chapter Educator of the Year” in 2006. We are still the Chapter Educators for TN-Y. We were chosen as our Chapter’s Couple of the Year in 2008 and selected as the “Tennessee District Couple of the Year” in 2008. We believe in the Rider Education program and we are both level IV riders. I could go on and on but I am bashful!
