Please note: Eligibility occurs at the conclusion of the 5, 10, or 15 year participation period and assumes active continuing participation and renewal for that period of time.
The following is a list of the Level IV, Master Tour Riders, eligible for the MASTERS RECOGNITION PROGRAM Indicating the Master numbers and year of issuance:
Current Master Number List
*Master Number Range contains numbers known to have been issued during that calendar year. Year of application is based on the application approval date, not on the date of entry into the database. In some instances, Master Numbers may have been issued out of sequence (e.g.: up to 5989 in 2005) causing a number to be issued in a year other than indicated. These minimal occurrences are to be ignored to simplify the tracking as well as to benefit the affected members. (Revised 2011) By Tony Van Schaick
The following is a brief overview of the current GWRRA Rider Education Program Levels Program. Please take part in this program, as it is one of the surest ways to remain a safe and conscientious motorcyclist.
The GWRRA Rider Education Program
Level I - "Safety by Commitment"
Have you ever heard of the Contract for Life? Many teens nowadays form this agreement with their parents and friends for their own safety - to assure getting home in one piece from social activities. Level I of the Rider Education Levels Program represents the commitment of the Rider and/or the Co-Rider to practice and encourage safe motorcycle operation whenever they operate their motorcycle. Safety begins as a state of mind that can only be attained only through total commitment. Safety is for Life! To make this promise to your friends and family, see your local GWRRA Educator.
Level II - "Safety by Education" (Tour Rider)
Level II of the REP is also referred to as Tour Rider. It represents the commitment of the Rider and/or Co-Rider to be safer motorcycle riders by taking approved motorcycle riding courses at regular intervals. Motorcycle education goes "hand in hand" with commitment. At Level II a Rider and/or Co-Rider begins to understand what his or her Level I commitment means and can see the value in the program.
Level III - "Safety by Preparedness" (Certified Tour Rider)
To prepare for any mishap which may occur, Level III of the Rider Education Levels Program represents the commitment of the Rider and/or Co-Rider to be prepared in the event of an accident to give aid and possibly save lives. This is achieved by becoming knowledgeable in First Aid or CPR through training and by carrying a first aid kit on their motorcycle at all times. you see a Level III, you see a rider that cares for his fellow members and for others. When a Level III is along on a ride, you know you have a trained, properly equipped individual, helping to look out for the group! It is important to always be prepared to save a life.
Level IV - "Safety by Enhanced Preparedness and Experience" (Master Tour Rider)
Level IV is the most prestigious level within the Rider Education Levels Program and is referred to as Master Tour Rider/Co-Rider. It represents the highest level of commitment by the Rider and/or Co-Rider toward safe riding and preparedness. This commitment is shown by a demonstrated history of safe miles, continuing education and current certification in both First Aid and CPR. These Master Tour Riders/Co-Riders are the finest example to everyone of the highest level of commitment to safe motorcycle operation and preparedness.
Level IV of the Rider Education Levels Program, the Master Tour Rider, was designed for those special caring individuals who desire to "be all they can be" with regards to motorcycle safety.
The GWRRA Motorist Awareness Program
Motorist Awareness is the GWRRA’s campaign to reduce crashes between automobiles, motorcycles and trikes in our increasingly chaotic highway environment. The Primarily Focus is on increasing motorists’ awareness of motorcycles and, secondarily, informs motorcyclists of factors that decrease motorists’ awareness of their presence.
To find out more about the GWRRA Rider Education Program, contact your District or Chapter Educator or Director. They have the forms and can assist you in filling them out.
